This pear crumble is everything that you could ask for and more in a dessert. It’s warm and inviting and bursting with flavor.
Ingredients:
- 4 pears peeled, cored and cubed (~4 cups)
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp citric acid or lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour regular or gluten free
For the crumble topping:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour regular or gluten free
- 1/2 cup Old fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp oil Any neutral oil will work
- 2 Tbsp water
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Grease a 1.5 QT baking dish and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine cut pears, sugar, citric acid (or lemon juice), and flour. Stir until pears are fully coated. Pour into baking dish.
- In the same bowl, add in flour, oats, sugar, salt, oil, and water. Mix with a wooden spoon. The topping should be wet but still crumbly. Spread topping evenly over pears.
- Transfer baking dish to oven and bake for 45-60 minutes or until topping has become crispy.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. (Delicious with or without a dollop of vanilla ice cream.)
